Real-life 'Rapunzel' swings her hair from balcony in Myanmar
This Burmese woman is a real-life Rapunzel, letting her long hair down a balcony much like the famous fairytale character.
Designer Thet Htar Phyu draped her dark, voluminous locks next to the balcony's railings while drying her hair in Yangon, Myanmar. The lengthy strands looked like a black curtain as she swept them back and forth to air them out.
Thet said she prefers air drying since blow drying can cause hair damage.
She said: 'I love my long hair and I wouldn't change it. I will keep it long for the rest of my life. Many people tell me how beautiful my hair is, which makes me happy.'
Despite the tropical weather, many Burmese women like to grow their hair as it represents elegance and beauty in the local culture.
The country is also a major global exporter of human hair for use in extensions and wigs. The industry allows Burmese ladies to make extra income from their locks.
