National map to be created out of 1,700 cars
The program "folding cars into a map of Vietnam" with a scale of 1,700 cars took place at the Tourist Area in Do Son District, Hai Phong City, Vietnam on July 9th. This is an event deployed and organized by Otofun - the largest automotive community in Vietnam.
Although the rain made the ground in the car parking area muddy, it was difficult to put cars in the parking lot. But after a lot of efforts of the members and the organizers, after just over 6 hours, the national map was completed.
In order to have 1,700 cars, the organizers had to call on people to use personal cars to participate in forming an S-shaped map of Vietnam.
More than 700,000 blocks of sand were rapidly pumped within a month to turn from a 3.5m deep lake into a ground on an area of 16ha, spacious and flat, enough for thousands of cars to travel.
This is the third time the program "folding cars into a map of Vietnam" has been held in Vietnam. The first time was in 2011 with 135 cars and the second time in 2016 with 480 cars.
This year, the Organizing Committee will surpass the world record when the number of cars arranged in a map is 1,700 cars.
This is the largest number of cars ever because the current world record is 750 cars as set by Guinness.
