Hundreds of thousands of people, mostly from far away provinces, waited 15 hours in the central streets of Hanoi to get a good spot to watch the military parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day at 6:30 a.m. on September 2, At Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi.

Many people even had to wait 2 days in advance to get the most central and beautiful spot for themselves. Most of the people stayed up all night to wait until morning to watch the parade.

This is a great day for the country, so all the people were very excited, joyful and happy to watch the military parade that is only held once every 40 years in Vietnam. People spread tarps and even set up tents on the sidewalks of the streets to sit and rest, rain or shine, they still did not leave their positions.

They shouted and sang every time a parade passed by, filling the air with the pride and great spirit of the Vietnamese people.

September 2nd is Vietnam's national day. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and September 2nd, so the government and the Ministry of National Defense organized the largest military parade ever. This large-scale military parade is especially celebrated every 40 years.
