Friendly whale shark approaches fisherman and allows himself to be stroked
This is the incredible moment a friendly whale shark approached a fisherman and allowed himself to be stroked.
Video shows the gentle marine giant swimming closer towards trawler Ball Navee's boat in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, Thailand on July 18.
As the creature draws closer towards the surface, Ball reaches his hand out and pats it on the head. He said: 'It's not every day you see a whale shark swimming around. I'm lucky.'
Despite their massive size, whale sharks are slow-moving, plankton feeding creatures. They are generally tame around humans and are completely safe to swim around with.
