This is the moment an intense fire ripped through an aluminum foil factory in Indonesia.

The massive blaze broke out at the PT MK Eks Harmoni factory in the Bogor Regency of West Java today.

Footage shows a huge pall of black billowing smoke rising from the inferno as terrified onlookers watched from a distance on August 19 morning.

The dark columns formed an opaque wall of smoke that partially obscured the sky.

Commissioner Bayu Tri Nugraha, head of the Gunung Putri Police, said the fire broke out at 6:00 am local time and has not yet been extinguished as of writing.

He said: 'Until now the source of the fire and the loss and the victims are still unknown. Police personnel are currently securing the scene.'

Residents living near the factory were asked to stay away for as the fire threatened to spread to the settlements.
