Woman headed music NGO brings underprivileged kids to Karyn White’s concert

Marmalade productions, the South African events and promotions company, made it possible for underprivileged children to attend Karyn White’s concert in Cape Town, South Africa. The children are trained to develop music skills through the Catapult Foundation based in the town of Hermanus.

Natasha Bruiners, the CEO of Catapult Foundation, together with staff from the foundation helped bring 15 children from Hermanus to see Karyn White in the Grand Arena at Grandwest Casino. The Catapult foundation runs several music and social aid programmes to assist underprivileged children develop musical and artistic skills in order to train them to eventually go study and become professional artists.

In South Africa, August is celebrated as Women’s Month. The 9th of August is celebrated as Women’s Day to commemorate the 1956 Women’s March to oppose the brutal laws of the apartheid regime. The day is also used to celebrate and promote the achievements of women and also to advance the struggle for gender equity.
