Hundreds of Hasidic Jews celebrated Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, in the streets of Uman, Ukraine, on September 27 despite air raid sirens being sounded.

According to reports, more than 20,000 Jews travelled to the city to visit the burial site of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, a revered Hasidic rabbi who died in 1810.

On September 25-27, 2022, Hasidim Jews arrive in Uman in the Cherkasy region, located 190 km south of Kyiv from all over the world to celebrate the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, at the grave of Hasidism founding father, Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav, who was buried in Uman in 1810.
