World's last seagoing paddle steamer seen alongside world's longest pleasure pier, UK
The world's last seagoing paddle steamer PS Waverley was seen alongside the world's longest pleasure pier at Southend on Sea, Essex this afternoon (October 7).
The impressive spectacle was filmed from Sheerness in Kent on the opposite side of the Thames Estuary.
Waverley is undertaking a 75th anniversary tour of the UK. and will complete her tour of the Thames this Sunday, before returning to Scotland.
Waverley is named after Sir Walter Scott’s Waverley novels.
