The world's last sea going paddle steamer Waverley lead a historic ships parade around Red Sands Forts off Kent, UK this afternoon (October 13).

The Waverley was joined by historic Steam Tug Challenge, which helped position the forts when they were originally installed back in 1943 to shoot down enemy aircraft approaching London via the Thames.

Classic pilot vessel X-Pilot was also in attendance as the three craft circled the iconic Red Sands Towers, six miles off the coast of Warden Bay on the Isle of Sheppey.

The special event marked the Waverley's last day on the Thames as part of its 2024 Thames & London season.
