TikToker uses HENNA to create make-up looks including semi-permanent lip 'filler' – leaves 53 MILLION users 'obsessed' Part 1
A teenager has gone viral on TikTok after using henna to give herself DIY lip filler – and social media users couldn’t believe the results.
Lisa Abdallah, 18, originally from Palestine but now living in Germany, used the dye year after growing tired of reapplying her lip liner several times a day.
Keen for her make-up to "last long that a few drinks", Lisa decided to give a semi-permanent lip liner a go, having used the product before for make-shift freckles.
In the video, which was viewed 53 million times and racked up 2.9 million views, Lisa films herself applying henna to the outline of her lips before filling them in entirely.
She also dots makeshift freckles across her nose and cheeks, and leaves the product on for 30-40 minutes.
In a follow-up video, she shares the results, calling them “amazing”.
One person said: "IT LOOKS SO GOOD IM OBSESSED."
Another person added: "Wow I was positive this was going to be a disaster and it looks AMAZING." [sic]
"The freckles look more real than my freckles and mine r real," added a third social media user. [sic]
Someone else added: "THAT ACTUALLY TURNED OUT NICE, I THOUGHT YOU WOULD REGRET IT." [sic]
A fifth TikTok user commented: "This turned out perfect."
Lisa was equally impressed with the results after sharing how often she would have to reapply her makeup throughout the day to create the effect of fuller lips before trying henna.
“I was applying lip liner for the fifth time of that day I chose to do this video and I just thought to myself ‘How cool would it be to have a lip liner that would last longer than a few drinks’ – so I chose to use henna instead,” she told NeedToKnow.online.
“It works like any other lip liner, but lasts way longer.
“Before applying it, my lips didn't look as plump. Not saying that I'm not happy with my lips, but every other woman knows what magic a good lip liner can do.
“I used to think about getting fillers, just to wake up with full lips, but using henna creates the same effect.
“Also, it's way cheaper and comes with no side effects, unless you're allergic of course.
“Applying the henna doesn't even take a minute. I leave it on for about 30-40 minutes and then gently wash it off with warm water.
“It's also not painful like getting fillers – it might burn a little bit, but that's it.
“I did love the results a lot and so do my followers. I think we were all a bit surprised by the outcome.”
However, Lisa added a word of caution, warning her followers to take a patch test before trying henna, and also said the henna would look orange-coloured initially, before settling into a brown tone.
She also recommended leave the dye on for longer on the skin above the lips, where she had overlined.
