Residential layouts in Krishnagiri district of Tamilnadu found themselves inundated following heavy rains that lashed through both rural and urban areas
The sudden downpour started late on Wednesday night and continued unabated until well into dawn on Thursday, were accentuated by the heavy rains in along the inter-state borders of Tamilnadu and in Karnataka.
This led to a heavy discharge of water reminiscent of flashfloods in some residential layouts before the water was discharged into the canal draining into the reservoir.
Residents were in complete shock as they didn't witness any flash floods like this in the recent past. Evacuation drive was on way but few residents refused to evacuate their houses and went to the higher elevations of the house.
