Floods submerged hundreds of houses after heavy rain in Indonesia
Heavy rains caused flooding to submerge residential areas in Demak distric, Central Java, Indonesia today (7 December).
Footage captures the water flow of the Tuntang river increasing when it rains in this area.
The overflow of the river resulted in flooding submerging hundreds of houses with a height of up to 1m (3.2 ft).
"This annual flood often occurs in Ploso Village. Every time the Tuntang River discharge is high, the flood will overflow into residential areas," said Yulianto, a rescue worker at TRC Rescue Demak.
