This is the amusing moment a clever student used plastic chairs to cross a flooded school garden.

The youngster was walking to the other side of the building but the path was submerged in knee-deep floods in Davao province, the Philippines on November 11.

But instead of ruining his clean uniform, the resourceful boy two chairs to walk across the deluge and keep himself dry.

Footage shows the smart youngster stepping on top of two chairs.

Teacher Jhun Lague said: ‘This young boy is my student. He was given a problem and then found a solution for it. That's the point of schools I believe.'

The boy reached the other end of the garden where his classmates were waiting for him.

Some of the students on the upper floors were cheering for him, and ditched the chairs when he reached the shallow part of the flood.
