November 19 2022 - MANHATTAN, New York:

Hundreds of Ukrainian-Americans attended a special remembrance mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Midtown in remembrance of the Holodomor.
The event started with a somber march of rememberance from St. George Ukrainian church in the East Village, led by a truck with a large bell that repeatedly tolled as they slowly processed up 3rd Avenue to St Patrick's Cathedral. They were led by Ukrainian-American veterans who held flags of both countries.

At St Patrick's Cathedral a Ukrainian memorial mass was held and a procession held where Ukrainian children and even Holodomor survivors left wheat on an altar at the front. US Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Schumer addressed the large crowd in attendance for the Holodomor mass, saying "...Just as Stalin failed, so will Putin." Also in attendance were several wounded Ukrainian soldiers who recently were flown to the United States for prosthetics treatment.

The Holodomor was a man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine from 1932 to 1933 that killed millions of Ukrainians. The Holodomor was part of the wider Soviet famine of 1932–1933 which affected the major grain-producing areas of the country.
