8. INFORMATIVE TABLET AT CEMETERY KYIV, UKRAINE - AUG 29, 2025: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskky attended the opening ceremony of the National War Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 29, in the capital, Kyiv.
The event was also attended by Ukrainian parliamentary speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, DDefense Minister Denys Shmyhal, Veterans Affairs Minister Natalia Kalmykova, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Russia started its "special military operation" in Ukraine in February 2022 to "denazify" and "demilitarize" Ukraine.
On Aug. 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump held a landmark summit in Alaska, where they voiced a shared commitment to “results” and hinted at potential frameworks to end the Ukraine war.
Trump later met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington, and briefly phoned Putin during the discussions — a call both sides described as "constructive."
