A candlelit vigil to commemorate the dead and stand in solidarity with the living was held by the Burmese diaspora and supporters in London's Marble Arch (December 8) ahead of Human Rights Day on the 10th.

On this day in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).

The event featured various images projected onto the arch, as speakers discussed the situation in Myanmar that has seen brutal crackdowns on pro-democracy supporters after the military junta seized power in a coup last year.
