A Chinese woman claims she suddenly got a moustache after contracting COVID-19.

In the video, Ms. Chen said she was too embarrassed to go out after she developed excessive facial hair.

The woman has always had lip hair however, after getting coronavirus, she noticed that it grew thicker than usual.

Ms. Chen said that she felt uncomfortable going out and has since shaved off the moustache.

Sudden facial hair growth in women is usually caused by higher-than-normal levels of androgen hormones.

The video was filmed in Suzhou, southern China’s Jiangsu province, on December 27. It was provided with the local media's permission.
