Kites of all shapes and sizes took to the sky during the International Kite Festival in Ahmedabad, Gujurat.

Around 126 competitors from 53 countries arrived on January 8 and took part in the event for the first time in two years due to COVID-19.

Kite flyers will attempt to break a Guinness World Records title for the most amount of people flying kites at the same time.

A windless day upset kite enthusiasts who arrived from 53 countries to participate in the 32nd Ahmedabad International Kite Festival on Sunday. As many as 126 kitists from abroad had gathered at the Sabarmati Riverfront for the festival which was inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

After a gap of 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Kite Festival is back in Ahmedabad and other cities across Gujarat. Organized by the Gujarat Tourism Corporation Ltd the International Kite Festival with the theme of G20 of 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'.

Kite flyers and enthusiasts from G20 nations along with other participants from across the world will participate in the International Kite Festival in Ahmedabad. This year, kite enthusiasts are attempting to achieve a Guinness World Record for the maximum number of kite enthusiasts from various countries, flying kites at the same time.
