Fearless rescuers dragged a 12ft-long crocodile that was hiding on a bushy roadside in Thailand.

The wildlife team went to the area after worried villagers reported seeing the massive reptile in Narathiwat province on January 13.

A volunteer held the creature by its tail and began to pull before others helped him without special equipment.

Footage shows the brave rescuers handling the animal with bare hands. They dragged it out of its hiding space, only about four steps away from the concrete road.

One of the rescuers Chayakorn Nuchuay said: ‘We believe the crocodile escaped from a farm during floods and went to hide here.

‘We had to act quickly because that was a busy road. We were relieved no one was hurt.'

The crocodile was also unhurt and safely taken back to a facility while waiting for its owners to claim it.
