A tourist's leap into a blue lagoon went wrong when she slipped on rocks.

Angelika Tempongko was cliff jumping on a canyoneering trip with friends when the fail happened in Cebu province, the Philippines on March 11.

While readying to take the plunge, the holidaymaker lost her balance as she stood on the edge of the rock formation.

Footage shows Angelika leaning over to jump when she lost her footing before the guide could finish counting up to three.

She said: ‘It was so painful. I was fine but my hand hit the rock. I had bruises but nothing serious.'

But despite the unexpected turn of events, Angelika added that she enjoyed the attraction.

She said: ‘The place was very beautiful. I will definitely return and do the jump again.'
