Hot air balloon plummets into reservoir with 7 tourists aboard in southwest China
Tourists narrowly escaped death after a hot air balloon fell into a reservoir in southwest China.
Video filmed in the city of Anshun in Guizhou Province on March 21, shows a sightseeing hot air balloon with seven people on it suddenly losing control after it flew to around 20 metres high before plummeting into a reservoir.
The screams of terrified tourists could be heard as the balloon descended.
The hot air balloon was seen floating and swaying on the water's surface, with some passengers partially submerged.
Fortunately, rescue workers quickly arrived on the scene and managed to bring all seven passengers to safety.
A spokesperson for the attraction later confirmed that all passengers were safely rescued and that there were no casualties reported.
The local authorities have suspended the hot air balloon ride as an investigation into the incident continues.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
