BRA – Cordon of Lie / demonstration against police violence and legacy of the dictatorship period.

On April 1st, Saturday, at 10 am, the Cordão da Mentira will make its traditional Parade & Scracho with a route that will leave the former DOI-CODI torture center on Rua Tutóia, passing by the Comando Militar do Sudeste in Ibirapuera, where coup -mongers camped, closing the parade at the Monumento das Bandeiras. This year, the theme of the 11th parade will be “Genocides, Fascists, Uniformed: will they really be amnestyed?”
April 1st is Lie Day, Dia do Coup de 1964. It is the day on which Cordão da Lie brings together artists, social movements and militants to remember past and present State crimes. Tortures, murders, forced disappearances, a reality that has not changed nearly nearly four decades after the end of the dictatorship.
