A new group of 21 Starlink V2.0 Mini satellites across the swiss nightsky friday morning april 21st, 2023 at 04:53 AM. This is called a satellite train.
At the start of the video they were invisible as they were not yet sunlit but then suddenly appear when they exit Earth's shadow.
This is the latest group of Starlink satellites, called Group 6-2.
They were launched and released in orbit with a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Florida on april 19 at 14:31 UTC. They take about an hour and a half to orbit Earth. This time the batch of satellites were only 21 units. They are a new generation of Starlink satellites called version "V2 Mini" Those are larger and upgraded with 4 times the bandwidth of previous models. Since these V2 Mini satellites are larger than previous versions ( but smaller than the originally planned V2 ) the Falcon 9 rocket can only carry 21 of these satellites at a time.
this was filmed from Vétroz in central Valais canton in the swiss Alps.
