Wang Jianfeng, a hairdresser from Shaoxing, Zhejiang, has become an internet sensation after using his "hair carving" skills to recreate the iconic hairstyle of a character from the Japanese anime movie "Slam Dunk".

The movie has been recently released in mainland China, and Wang Jianfeng's client requested the hairstyle of one of the characters, Ryohei "Anzai" Miyagi.

Wang Jianfeng, who is in his 30s and has been in the hairdressing industry for nearly 20 years, started experimenting with hair carving in 2016. Since then, he has created over a thousand hair-carving works featuring sports stars, cartoon characters, and portraits.

"To be good at hair carving, you have to learn how to draw. So, I started learning various painting techniques and practiced over and over again," said Wang. He started by practicing on old employees and regular customers at his shop. As he gained more popularity, he began receiving calls from customers outside of the city who wanted to visit his shop to get hair carving done.

"Some customers even provide their own photos for me to recreate. The fee for hair carving styling is around 200 yuan ($31). It makes me feel happy and accomplished," Wang added.

The video, which was filmed on April 21, was published with Wang Jianfeng's permission.
