May Day workers' solidarity marchers sing anti-royalist slogans in London

Participants for the annual May Day event, marched in solidarity with workers the world over in central London today (May 1).

Various organisations took part: including RMT and CWU trade unions, whose members have taken mass strike action over the past year, workers' organisations representing Latin America, Türkiye, Iran, Sri Lanka and Kashmir.

Other left-wing marchers voiced opposition to the upcoming coronation of King Charles by singing: 'You can shove your coronation up your ar*se', as they passed Coutts Bank in the Strand and, 'If you hate the Royals clap your hands.'
