Twos rallies organised by group Reclaim the Sea was held outside the Home Office in London with activists simulataneously protesting in Falmouth against government plans to house up to 500 single male migrants on the Bibby Stockholm (May 21).

The barge is being refitted in Falmouth to increase its capacity from 200 to 500 people - with each room being the size of a parking lot, which activists say is inhumane and poses safety and health risks, with one man dying on board when it was previously in use in the Netherlands.

The barge is set to be in use by July of this year and speakers urged others to take action and reject the plans before they become a permanent fixture in the UK.
