Heroic man dives to river to rescue drowning woman in central China
A video captured on May 15 shows a remarkable incident in Chengdu's Longquanyi District, where a man spotted a woman struggling in the waters of the Xijiang River and immediately jumped in to rescue her.
The courageous rescuer, Mr Deng, born in 2002, holds swimming instructor and lifeguard certifications.
He and his companions were on the opposite bank, attempting to catch some crayfish when they noticed the woman jumping into the river.
Without hesitation, Deng leapt into action to save her. Fortunately, the woman suffered no serious injuries, just a few gulps of water.
