Evacuations are underway after a dam near Kherson, Ukraine, was severely damaged on June 6.

Footage published by the Ukrainian government appears to show water from the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant reservoir gushing through a damaged section of the dam.

According to reports, around 16,000 people are threatened by the floodwater.

It is not clear what caused the breach in the dam.
