STORYLINE:
Huawei South Asia on Saturday launched its "Women In Tech 2023" project for Bangladeshi women in collaboration with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
The project is aimed at developing local information and communications technology (ICT) talent and enabling knowledge sharing among females.
Inspired by the theme "Tech for Her, Tech by Her, Tech with Her," Huawei launched its "Women In Tech" project in 2020 globally. And this year Huawei launched this competition in Bangladesh for the first time.
According to Huawei, current science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) female students of universities and those who graduated in the last two years are eligible to participate in this six-month-long project.
The champion of the project will get 2,767 dollars as prize money. The first and second runner up will get 1,845 dollars and 922 dollars, respectively. All three winners will get the opportunity to visit the Huawei headquarters in China.
