Southwestern College took its graduation ceremony to Tijuana, Mexico, for 64 students who have family who could not cross the border into San Diego County for the event on the college campus.

The ceremony was held at the Escuela Preparatoria Federal Lázaro Cárdenas in Tijuana.

Representatives from Southwestern College say they are committed to bringing a culture of bi-nationalism to education and support California Assembly Bill 91 which would give California community college in-state tuition to anyone living within 45 miles of the Mexican border with San Diego and Imperial Counties.
