A police officer saved five endangered baby owls in southwestern China.

The video was filmed in Kunming City in Yunnan Province on May 11.

The baby-collared scops owls protected under state law due to their dwindling numbers, were found alone and vulnerable.

Unable to fend for themselves due to their tender age, the owlets have since been placed under the expert care of the local forestry department.

In this safe haven, they will be nurtured until they are robust enough to return to the wild, thus contributing to the crucial task of preserving their species.
