A raging bull left a path of destruction after it escaped a rodeo arena and injured members of a politician's family in the car park.

The bull escaped after violently throwing its rider and charged a scarecrow - sending it flying into the air.

A video, filmed by Chris Henson, shows the Texas longhorn bull storming out of the gate at the Utah County Fair, Spanish Fork, USA, and making its way into the outside.

Local politician Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson's family were injured when the fleeing bull charged into the parking lot.

According to reports, Henderson's mother sustained bruising and minor injuries before hiding in a vehicle while the bull stepped on her brother's foot.

Henderson tweeted: "Despite being chased, knocked down and stepped on (bro’s foot) they miraculously escaped w/minor injuries. "

"They’re pretty shaken (and I’m pretty pissed)." "

Rodeo Cowboys eventually managed to wrangle the bull after a number of minutes.
