A Simpsons superfan is selling one of the biggest memorabilia collections of the US show, and it could sell for just £5,000.

Marshall Julius boasts over 2,000 toys and pieces from the famous cartoon.

He has spent over three decades collecting them.

Marshall believes it to be the biggest collection in England – and one of a few in the world.

He started his collection back in 1990 with a Bart Simpson figure from a 1990 Burger King promotion.

The author went on to collect the rest of the family – Homer, Marge, Lisa and Maggie – kickstarting the memorabilia bug.

It now boasts comics, figures, pins, artwork and trading cards.

He even has a signed Bart Simpson drawing from the show creator, Matt Groening.

Superfan Marshall says he watches every new episode and sets aside a few hours a week to watch classic eps.

His favourite character is Homer and his all-time, favourite one is Season 8, Episode 23 with Frank Grimes.

The 54-year-old believes his collection has set him back £20,000.

And if he were to sell it individually could fetch £50,000.

He is now selling the 2,000-strong collection on eBay for £5,000 – in a bid to raise funds for moving house.

Marshall, of Bromley, southeast London, said: "When I first started collecting, I was closer to age with Bart but now I'm closer to Homer.

"I've loved and laughed with that show since it began in 1989.

"After I collected the family with the Burger King promotion I pretty much started collecting everything I could get my hands on.

"I keep it at home, in my den.

"I struck a deal with my wife.

"She said I could have the biggest room in the house, so long as I kept all my stuff in it.

"It's been a squeeze, but I've pretty much managed that."

Marshall would trawl through markets, comic stores and collector shops to add to his ever-growing collection.

He said: "When I started collecting, there were a few nerd stores in town that I used to visit every Saturday morning.

"Every penny of pocket money went on stuff! Also, there were regular collector fairs and markets where I'd discover must-have treasures.

"And then, of course, the Internet came along, particularly eBay, at which point the whole world became my collecting oyster.

"I was working by then, earning my own money, and so of course, I started spending more than pocket money on my collection."

Marshall says he is hoping the collection will be picked up by a museum or another avid collector.

He said: "We're moving house soon, and I rather feel my collection has gotten out of hand.

"It's by far the most valuable, and moving is an expensive business.

"We could really use the money.

"I didn't want to see the collection split up so it's a nothing or all sale."
