The sunken ship Nanhai No.1 of the Southern Song Dynasty was discovered 20 years ago, and for various reasons, it remained dormant on the seabed without excessive disturbance. Today, after sinking for over 800 years, it has finally been lifted out of the sea as a whole. After many years of exploration, certain features of the "Nanhai No.1" have been preliminarily mastered, such as the size of the ship's hull, the main cargo being porcelain and iron, deep burial in the sea mud, and the intact structure of the ship's hull except for the deck. Furthermore, the significance based on these characteristics has been created and repeatedly reiterated, such as being able to contribute precious physical objects to the study of the Maritime Silk Road, enrich the history of navigation and trade, and so on. Under these reasonable interpretations, Nanhai No.1 has already evolved into a cultural symbol, and the excavation of "Nanhai No.1" has become a cultural event.
