An electric motorcycle exploded while charging inside a shop.
CCTV footage shows the two-year-old vehicle powered by a lithium-ion battery suddenly bursting into flames while it was left plugged in inside the property in Samut Sakhon province, Thailand, on March 22.
Residents living above the shop premises raced down to extinguish the flames and the fire was quickly brought under control.
Electric motorcycles, and e-bikes, have surged in popularity in recent years amid a rise in their use across China. However, the batteries are notoriously dangerous and tens of thousands of cases have been recorded showing them bursting into flames.
