STORYLINE:

According to a senior Palestinian official, over 100 Palestinian athletes are preparing for the 19th Asian Games, which will open on Sept. 23 in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province. They are looking forward to this high-level sports event.

"This is my first visit to China, and some of our athletes have visited China many times. We expect China to show a high level of performance in organizing events. During the preparations for the event, I had exchanges with Chinese friends on organization, registration, transportation, etc. Obviously, there is no problem, I think this Asian Games is a high-level event.
China has rich experience in hosting large-scale sports events and has done excellent organization and preparation work. This can be felt when the Palestinian Olympic Committee team contacts its Chinese counterparts. The Chinese side has reviewed issues such as the timeline very carefully, and has made thoughtful arrangements for transportation, accommodation and food."

According to Jayousi, the current Palestinian delegation is "the most important participating delegation in history as our athletes will compete in 17 competitions, including football, beach volleyball and e-sports, which hits a record high in Palestine's Asian Games participation history."
