A girl tenderly fed a whopping 25kg pet koi in her home's pond, while lovingly stroking its head in southern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Zhongshan in Guangdong Province on September 28.

According to the breeder, Mr Yuan, the little girl is a friend of the family and is 5 years old. In comparison, the koi, affectionately named Hurricane is already 7 years old and weighs a whopping 25kg.

Raising such a magnificent fish hasn't been an easy task. With a market price nearing 500,000 yuan (£58,000).

Interestingly, while Hurricane feels at ease with children, it gets anxious when adults approach. Yuan explained, "Koi naturally gravitate towards kids. When adults come to feed it, there's more pressure."
