SOUNDBITE (Spanish): PATRICIO GIUSTO, Director of the Sino-Argentine Observatory, Visiting professor at Zhejiang University
"The integration of our country into this initiative is a very significant development. It is the largest infrastructure and connectivity development initiative that humanity has ever seen, and, obviously, it presents an opportunity to capitalize on.
What I find interesting is the diversity within the list of projects approved for Argentina's participation. I would particularly highlight everything related to the energy sector, especially renewable energies.
But there's also connectivity. There are very important projects that our country has been waiting for a long time. In the realm of renewable energy, there are new investments in hydroelectric and photovoltaic energy as well.
In a country like Argentina, which has significant energy potential and aims to diversify its energy mix, China is bringing a broad agenda of projects in that direction.
China is opening doors and has a very interesting and ambitious project agenda, but it's up to us to put that into practice and make it a reality. This is the next stage that lies ahead."
