Footage shows the holidaymaker Ackarachai Tae's feet stomping on the wet sand before the surface glowed bright blue as he explored nature at night in Chonburi province, Thailand, on August 12.

Bioluminescent plankton, also known as fire algae, are microscopic organisms that live in the ocean and produce light. They can be found worldwide, but they are most common in warm, tropical waters.
