Dino Patti Djalal, the founder of Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), has said that Indonesia "welcomes the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as an example of China being a solution provider to the infrastructure challenges the world is facing."
He made the remarks in an interview with Xinhua on the sidelines of the just-concluded 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.

"I haven't (taken the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway in Indonesia), but my friends have. From what I hear, it's a very excellent railway. He went on that train, and then he put a coin on the train and the coin stood up. It did not fall, to indicate that is very smooth. Very smooth. So I have great admiration for that. And I think it is an example of a China-supported project which really helps the local economy in Indonesia.
Because the economic implication of that Jakarta-Bandung railway will be enormous. People say (from) Jakarta (to) Bandung was usually about 3 to 4 hours' ride. (Those two cities) will be sort of one big city because of that railway.
We are already a supporter and participant in the Belt and Road Initiative. And we welcome the projects, and we welcome the BRI as an example of China being a solution provider to the infrastructure challenges the world is facing. What we hope is that the BRI project is a green project. The infrastructures will support sustainability and sustainable development in all the countries that are taking part in it."
