Armed officers were spotted at the scene of a "police incident" on Evington Road, Leicester, last night (November 22).

Footage shows an armed police officer instructing members of the public to stand back outside restaurant La Mama.

The filmer told Newsflare: "I had parked around the corner on a side street and was heading over to get food on Evington Road.

"When I got there I saw all this commotion."

Leicestershire Police posted an update on X: "Please note that following an incident late yesterday evening, a road closure currently remains in place in Evington Road, Leicester.

"The road closure is in place between the junction with Kingston Road/Kedleston Road and the junction with Lyme Road/Linton Street.

"Please avoid this area. The closure is in place to allow an ongoing police investigation and our officers remain at the scene.

"We will provide further updates to you in relation to the incident and investigation when we are able to."

The filmer claims shots were fired before officers arrived but the police have not confirmed this.

I had parked around the corner on a side street and was heading over to get food on evington road. When I got there I seen all this commotion and people saying a car drove past slow and let off 5 shots from the window aimed specifically at 2 men. 1 got hit outside La mama which is a food spot and the other ran and got hit 20 meters down the road. I seen both men laying there with loads of people around them so didn’t video that. I got a pic of one of the stray bullets into a window of la mamas and a vid of loads of armed police arriving then I left.

The road is still closed today. Some are saying both men died but I’m unsure.
