In a festive display of goodwill, U.S. Air Force Maj. Zach "Badger" Overbey, the mission commander and pilot of Operation Christmas Drop 2023 (OCD 23), took to the skies alongside Lt. Col. Chris Casler, 374th Operations Group deputy commander. Flying over the Republic of Palau on December 3, 2023, in the aircraft "Santa 36," the duo delivered two bundles to the people of Koror.
In this heartwarming holiday mission, Santa 36 of the 36th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron played a crucial role in OCD 23, showcasing the USAF's commitment to humanitarian efforts. OCD, the longest-running Department of Defense mission for humanitarian and disaster relief, collaborates annually with countries in the Pacific Air Forces area of responsibility. The mission focuses on delivering supplies to remote islands in the South-Eastern Pacific, embodying the spirit of generosity and compassion during the festive season.
