Driver cuts hole in his car boot so pet husky can enjoy the view
A crafty pet owner stunned residents by cutting a hole in the boot of his car so that his beloved Husky could stick its head out and enjoy the view when the two travel.
Phone footage shows the curious pooch's head peeking out the hole of the parked car in Yunfu, in China's southern Guangdong Province on December 5.
Seemingly already used to strangers coming up close to gaze at the bizarre sight, it sat patiently inside the boot while apparently waiting for its owner.
The clip immediately attracted attention on social media and the very next day the owner, surnamed Peng, posted a response.
Peng said that he has been taking care of the husky, named Cuihua, for the past three years.
Peng, who used to drive a pickup truck, said Cuihua had become accustomed to sitting in the wide, open back and enjoying the view.
However, after he switched to a smaller car, Cuihua became quite restless with being forced to sit in the small, stuffy space, and would even tear out the leather seats.
Peng explained: 'It's not convenient to put the dog in a small car. The back seat of the car is full of dog hair, and the dog is good at dismantling things.'
As a last resort to spare himself the costly replacements, Peng decided to cut a hole in the boot.
With the help of a grinding machine, he was able to create an opening just wide enough so that the dog's head would through, and added a lid so that it would not affect the normal use of the vehicle.
