University students joined an awesome confetti shower at their sports day.

The youngsters held the opening ceremony with a huge and colourful display on campus in Cebu City, the Philippines, on November 28.

Footage shows the students on the highest floor of the building dropping sacks of black, red, pink, orange, yellow, green, and blue shreds of colourful crepe papers.

The confetti illuminated the enclosed quadrangle surrounded by buildings, and tons of festive paper bits gathered on the ground, leaving a huge mess for the school's janitors.

Zandro Guillo, who captured the video, said: 'It's a tradition in the University of Cebu - Banilad Campus to have a Confetti Shower during Intramurals Opening Ceremony.'
