On the morning of December 14, a fire that originated the previous day in Users (Alcalaten) continued to challenge firefighting efforts.

Throughout the night, teams including seven forest fire units from the Generalitat, seven fire engines, a Castello Fire Brigade crew, and two volunteer fire crews worked in the area, contending with challenging wind gusts.

Aerial vehicles, five fire trucks, and four forestry units, one by helicopter, joined the morning's firefighting efforts.

The fire ignited from a vehicle that caught fire after an accident on the road between Les Useres and Barona, with the alert received at 3:40 p.m.

Despite initial efforts, the fire spread from abandoned cultivation to a forested area, fueled by strong winds and dry terrain.

The Generalitat's Emergency Coordination Center activated level 1 of the Special Plan for Forest Fires due to the proximity of scattered homes, although no reported impact on homes at this stage.
