The quake, with an epicenter located in Liugou Township of Jishishan County, caused the death of 105 people and damaged 4,782 houses as reported by the latest updates.
Due to the earthquake, the area faced a severe shortage of warm clothing and bedding, with temperatures in the region dropping to around -15 degrees Celsius at night. The local authorities and residents have been working to address the critical need for cotton clothes, quilts, and shoes. The relief efforts are focused on providing essential items like tents, warm clothing, and food. Additionally, there's a significant demand for emergency supplies like generators and stoves.
The situation is challenging due to the cold weather and the extensive damage caused by the earthquake. Emergency services and local departments are continuously assessing the needs for resources, which are mainly being supplied from within the province.
