A dog lost for a year and a half emotionally responded to its owner's voice upon being reunited in central China.

The heartwarming video was filmed in Nanyang City in Henan Province on January 2.

The man had visited the dog market that day to assist a friend in finding another dog but serendipitously rediscovered his lost canine companion, Coke, a 3-year-old Alaskan.

The dog, who was on the verge of being sold, joyfully barked upon hearing the filmer's voice, ultimately reuniting with its owner.

Coke's fur was matted, a result of over a year of wandering and being exposed to the elements. Upon meeting his owner, the dog emitted excited, almost sobbing sounds, evoking emotions and tears from many onlookers.

After contacting the police, the filmer purchased Coke and brought him back home.

Mr. Wang, the filmer, expressed gratitude for the fortunate encounter and last-minute rescue, as he seldom frequents the dog market.

According to Wang, Coke had been lost once in 2021 and was recovered after 8 months; this incident marks the second time the dog had gone missing.
