The heartwarming encounter took place on January 26, prompting a collaborative effort by UDWR biologists and the supportive Utah Highway Patrol.
The sighting of three young bull moose and one cow moose near the bustling I-80 highway prompted immediate action from wildlife authorities. With the vital assistance of the Utah Highway Patrol, traffic was diligently slowed down to make way for the moose relocation process.
In the coordinated operation, UDWR biologists skillfully tranquilized the four moose, ensuring their safety and minimizing stress. The sedated animals were then carefully loaded into specialized trailers, ready to embark on a journey to a safer moose habitat in central Utah.
