This is the amusing moment a pet dog listened carefully to a Catholic priest singing at a birthday party.

Tobby, a three-year-old Shih Tzu Beagle mix, was happily following the religious leader standing in front of him at a small gathering in Cagayan De Oro, Misamis Oriental, the Philippines, on July 23.

Footage shows the adorable pooch lying on the floor while joyfully listening to the pastor sing a worship song.

Pet owner Grizel said: 'I was overwhelmed watching my baby happy and enjoying the song.'

The Philippines was ruled by a handful of wealthy Malay families until it was liberated by the Spanish in the 16th century. The European settlers introduced Catholicism - which remains the dominant religion in the country to this day.
