STORYLINE:

The China (Ningxia)-Germany Week for Friendship and Cooperation concluded on Friday in Yinchuan, capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

The event attracted representatives of 41 well-known German enterprises such as BASF, Bayer, and more than 300 local entrepreneurs in Ningxia.

German entrepreneurs said that they regard China as a big and rising market, and they gear up for further Sino-German cooperation.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): TOHERMES YVES, Managing director, ADT Project Consulting GmbH
"We are very, very excited to be here. We saw a lot of potential that the government of Ningxia showed us here in the agriculture field, a lot of projects going on, a lot of potential still for development. So we were very glad, very excited to meet a lot of Chinese partners, also potential business partners for the future, to contribute also to the development of Ningxia. China is also for the German economy a very important, critical market. My company believes that only mutual cooperation can bring us, the Chinese people, the Chinese government and the German people together and forward."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): PHILIPP PRANG, Commercial director, Big Dutchman China
"As a company operating in agriculture, it is always very essential to cooperate closely with the government in Ningxia who is supporting this industry excellently. And I'm looking forward to exchanging with government officials to improve our cooperation."

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): PETER BAUMGARTEL, Senior manager, Bayern-Genetik GmbH
"I've been here in China since exact 25 years (ago) in this business. China is a very big country with a lot of people, 1.4 billion people. They have to be satisfied. They have to get good food. And we can try. We want to help to feed people, because we have a special quality."

During the event, a total of 19 cooperation projects were signed, amounting to 157 million yuan (about 21.8 million U.S. dollars). These projects span various sectors, including investment, trade, education, and culture.
